Who We Are |
|
My grandfather,
Deane C. Davis, Governor Vermont ('68-'72) created the first
environmental state-wide cleanup program in the nation in April 1970.
He was able to have an act of Congress to shut down interstate 89 for
four hours while 60,000 Vermonters picked up trash from all points of
the state.
Vermont Green Up is now in it's 39th year. My dream is to
have Massachusetts be the next state to enact such a program.
Framingham, the largest town in America has successfully had 11 years of
cleaning up tons of trash thanks to the efforts of thousands of
volunteers (mainly students and their parents).
