FRAMINGHAM - Every year, around Earth Day, a group of local volunteers roll up their sleeves, take to the streets and clean trash from Framingham's streets, parks and neighborhoods.

This year, volunteers with GreenUp Day would like to spur participation among Framingham youth in the townwide event, which will be held May 3 from 9 a.m. to noon.

To do that, GreenUp Inc. has called all Framingham students to take part in an art contest to depict the spirit of GreenUp Day, a townwide clean up to celebrate Earth Day. The top three winners will receive laptop computers and Danforth Museum of Art memberships and family passes. A total of 50 works will be exhibited at the museum school from May 3 through May 17. Brian Lovett, a GreenUp Day member and managing partner of Computer Recycling USA, is donating the computers.
